My attempts at fan fiction started out with a desire to flesh out a backstory for Furnace but it eventually turned in to an abbreviated backstory for all 22 Heroes in the game (including the Nameless Hero). It even led to the creation of two original Heroes, Firebrand and Fuogo, to bring the total to 24. Encouraged by Inkathu's call for contributions and some user comments on the Forum (notably here and here), I posted the stories on the Scribe's Conclave Board as a series, but they were all completed at different times and posted out of order. They are still a work in progress although all you will likely see now are edits to the existing stories (I probably won't be adding any new stories). Here are the links to the stories as they should appear in chronological order on the Forum:

Part IV No Tea in the Sandperch August 24, 2017 (b)

While some research and a great deal of guesswork went into the writing of the stories, and I took care in trying to get everything to fit into the Crazy Kings universe as accurately as possible, the stories remain a mix of canon and mostly non-canon material. I would have liked for instance to tie every Hero to a level or a land in the game, using the predefined Card drop locations when possible. However, nearly two-thirds of the Heroes appear at random in the game and do not appear to have predefined drops. Some Heroes I couldn't tie to an existing land (much less a level) so I had to create a land or pick a level of their own, while trying to keep within the game's storyline. That is why Oni, Blink, Drake and iRon come from the non-canon land of Sarugattori (think 15th and 16th century feudal Japan with some robotic technology dating from the 1920s to the 1940s) but they are actually encountered while they are traveling in the Sandperch Desert. Knox is a notable exception: I thought a watering hole in the neotropical Sandperch Desert would be a more fitting location for a crocodile-hunter than the Unholy Land. So perhaps it could be said Knox was in the south vacationing for the winter! Although there is no predefined drop for Behemoth in the game, a post by TicBits on their Facebook page (and thus canonical) seems to imply he comes from the forests of Everwinter. Like Knox, I have expanded upon this in my fan fiction, having him encountered in the Sandperch Desert as well. My rendition of the background stories for Frostbeard, Furnace and iRon differs substantially from those contained in recent Facebook posts (late March to early April 2018). These posts revealed that Frostbeard and Furnace are brothers as well as Titans that respectively represent the opposing elements of ice and fire. I presume this makes them giant dieties or gods and not Human after all. iRon, on the other hand, was "dug up" in Everwinter (see Hero Cards Spotlight).
Shirt furnace
